New Double Batch AudioWave and ShockWave 2

Once again, in response to requests, we're bringing you a new batch of Shockwave 2.

What's new compared to the previous version

1. Design

The OPL4 SHOCKWAVE 2 is smaller than your predecessor and fits in a

small cartridge case.

2. Output

As the new size will not accept the RCA connectors, now we have a P2 stereo output.

3. More Output

The OPL4 sound is mixed with the internal MSX sound. So you can listen the OPL4

Shockwave 2 sound through the MSX sound output (mono).

4. More Memory

The OPL4 SHOCKWAVE 2 have twice the RAM capacity of the original

OPL4 (2MB against 1MB).

AudioWave (MSX-Audio)

AUDIOWAVE is fully compatible with the MSX AUDIO standard.

The standard allows you to control up to 2 cartridges simultaneously.

Chip: Y8950, with:

09 channels with FM synthesis.

01 4-bit ADPCM channel, with 8-bit and 16 Khz resolution.

RAM and ROM:

256 Kb Sample RAM

512 Kb FLASHROM, allowing BIOS upgrade.

32 Kb WorkRAM

BIOS:

Contains the MSX-BASIC extension and musical keyboard software in ROM.

In and out:

Line Out Jack P2.

The AudioWave sound is mixed with the internal MSX sound. So you can listen the AudioWave sound through the MSX sound output (mono)

Line In Jack P2 - used for audio capture.

Connector to use compatible musical keyboards, such as: YAMAHA YK-01, YK-10 and YK-20; Panasonic FS-MKB1; TOSHIBA HX-MU901

Software:

There is an extensive MSX software library supporting MSX-AUDIO. According to the Generation MSX website, there are about 370 softwares, including floppy magazines, games, demos and music-disks:

Slot Expander with volume control

- 4 Expanded slots that can fit even large cartridges;

- 35 cm buffered flat cable;

- Exclusive plastic cabinet;

- 5V External power supply (included);

- You can easely disable a slot (you don't have to remove the cartridge). Each slot have one key and one information LED; *

- "DC IN" Status LED: The main board and the cartridges are protected against incorrect voltage (low or high), any problem with the power suply, even if you forgot to conect one :-). The DC IN Status Led will blink in any of these cases;

- High quality board (as always);

Hello everyone!

Thank you for shopping with Tecnobytes. We are very grateful for your confidence in us. We are striving to do our best to deliver you excellent hardware for you to use in your MSX, "the most magical of all microcomputers".

Unfortunately, one of our team members (Rogério Belarmino) has got the COVID-19 disease. He has taken first dose of vaccine and he is out of danger, but his mobility is limited due to his medical condition.
